Job Title: Broadcast Technician (1 position)
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Overall Responsibility:
The Broadcast Technician will work with hardware and broadcast systems that are used across television and new media. It’s your job to make sure that programmes are broadcast on time and to the highest quality. As well as operating and maintaining the systems, you’ll carry out updates and repairs.
Specific Responsibilities:
The nature of the work varies according to your location and whether you’re based in television and/or new media, but your tasks may include:
- Maintaining specialist equipment for video production, broadcast and satellite transmission and interactive media
- Setting up and monitoring audiovisual links between units in different locations
- Installing and testing new facilities and equipment
- Setting up and operating editing facilities in post-production suites
- Analysing and repairing technical faults on equipment and systems
- Minimising loss of service when equipment fails by quickly identifying and implementing alternative methods of service provision
- Setting up and operating equipment and transmission links during outside broadcasts
- interpreting and implementing instructions and requests from producers, directors and other colleagues
- Keeping up to date with the industry and changes in technology by building and maintaining a network of contacts and investigating new systems and techniques.
- Installs and maintains the IT network, switches, data backups, workstations and printers
Education, skills and experience
- Advanced Diploma or above in Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Strong understanding of digital/social media and how it works
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Minimum three years’ experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Experience with fiber connectivity, production setups, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems and editing systems
- Experience with digital transmitters, microwave equipment, and other broadcast-related equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Job Title: Accountant (1 position)
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Overall Responsibility:
The Accountant will be responsible for overall financial administration in accordance with the legal requirements, highest ethical standards, and preparation of all monthly management reports. You will ensure that all financial management practices, reports and documentation are well organized and conform to policies and the highest standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all financial transactions and data are correctly recorded according to policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all financial documents are accurately supported, approved and that all cheque books, cheque list, petty cash, LPOs are maintained correctly
- Ensure that staff payroll administration is verified for accuracy, properly processed and that all statutory payments such as PAYE and pension are made on a timely basis.
- Manage banking, accounts and balances effectively and efficiently, including undertaking monthly bank reconciliations, foreign exchange management as and cash flow management in a timely manner.
- Contribute to annual/quarterly budget development and reporting for Kwanza TV.
- Support the development and updating of financial policies, procedures and standards, including keeping abreast of new financial and tax laws in accordance to legal requirements and the best financial practices, and ensure that all staff are well informed in their use.
- Ensure that Kwanza TV is compliant with all legal requirements regarding taxation, returns, fees and other financial statutory requirements.
- Prepare monthly expenditure in relation to budget reports and inform management on a timely basis.
- Prepare high quality financial reports including professional annual financial statements in a timely basis.
- Prepare for and collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit.
- Maintain well organized physical and electronic archive of financial documentation stretching back at least seven years in secure location.
Education, skills and experience:
- Holder of CPA certificate or equivalent preferred, or at least advanced stage in progressing towards it.
- At least three years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent administrative and planning skills.
- Experience of using accounting packages, as well as MS Office.
- Impeccable, corruption‐free reputation and integrity.
- Ability to keep deadlines and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Can take initiative, get things done really well and fast.

Job Title: News Anchor Reporters (2 positions)
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Overall Responsibility:
The News Anchor Reporter serves as the primary presenter and collector of news stories and other content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate compelling storytelling ability using dynamic live shots and stand-ups, creative graphics, and use of digital and social media platforms
- Works with fellow reporters and producers in newscast production
- Regularly plans, gathers and assembles stories on day-of news or special project assignments
- Works with or without a cameraman to gather and edit compelling video and captivating sound
- Coordinates with producers to develop stories that go beyond surface details, that accentuate unique enterprise angles, and have exclusive content
- Develops and share with team a network of sources who provide tips, early access to information, and allow the reporter to break stories of significance.
- Will contribute pictures, video and text updates to mobile platforms consistently throughout the day
- Can juggle multiple stories and projects at once, demonstrates exceptional time-management skills by meeting all deadlines under extraordinary pressure.
- An ability to summarise information into easy-to-understand components
- Produce content for multiple platforms, including TV, internet, mobile, etc.
- Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
Education, skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication/Journalism or related degree
- 3 years television anchoring or reporting experience
- Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation
- Ability to handle hard-hitting interviews or talk shows
- Strong user of social media
- Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar and organizational skills
- Promotes teamwork and maintains attitude of cooperation with all station staff
- Operate newsroom computer systems
- Ability to operate mobile transmission devices and use latest technology
