Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in social sciences related to child protection or related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Child Protection.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in child rights and child participation
- Knowledge of current national debates on Child Protection policies and practices
- Demonstrated experience of developing and managing relationships and funding from donors or other development partners.
- Prior experience in a leading role on the development of competitive and complex projects.
- Demonstrated experience working with international, national and/or regional level government structures to strengthen the capacity of the government to deliver services.
- Proven experience in programme development, project cycle management and monitoring and evaluation related to the sector including writing up high quality project/donor reports.
- Proven experience and skills in advocacy and building work relationships with local/national governments and influencing institutional, private and/or corporate donors.
- Solid experience and excellent skills in leading and building capacity of systems, staff, partners and other actors related to CP.
- Ability to extensively travel for project monitoring and provide on-site technical support to field teams.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
- Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner.
- Experience of building personal networks, resulting in securing new opportunities for the organisation
- Experience solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy-in of others.

- Ability to read, write and speak in English.

Job Title: Construction Assistant
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Provide the required support to the Construction Officer as per the construction activities;
- Supervise construction and maintenance activities that SCI will undertake in the response and host community host
- Provide technical guidance to response team on proper use of structures and out-door play materials
- Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects;
- Represent SCI in SHELTER and WASH working groups and other coordination functions in the camp as and when necessary;
- Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders
- Provide technical specifications, BOQ and technical drawings as required;
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering/ Architecture or related field;
- Minimum 2 years of experience from a senior level project implementation position, preferably in a humanitarian/recovery context;
- Experience from working in construction supervision;
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities;
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile;
- Fluency in English and Swahili, both written and verbal;
- Previous work experience with a national/international NGO;
- Excellent in computer software such as excel, word, and Auto-CAD;

Job Title: CHILD SAFEGUARDING OFFICER
ROLE PURPOSE:
The role holder will be responsible for delivering high quality, accessible and reliable support, guidance and capacity to emergency/humanitarian response teams and country offices in order to challenge and encourage engagement as we progress full implementation of the Child Safeguarding Policy and procedures
Will receive safeguarding referrals and coordinate a procedure which addresses and prioritises the needs of those affected by liaising with statutory agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A University degree in the social sciences or relevant subject, at least five years in capacity building and technical assistance provision to Government, NGOs/CBOs;
- Experience in child protection/child safeguarding practice; including work and vulnerable children and managing issues.
- In depth understanding of children’s issues in Tanzania, demonstrable commitment to Children’s Rights, coordinated care, case management and, child development processes and practices in Tanzania;
- Good data management, data analysis skills;
- Ability to communicate complete and sensitive information to a wide and diverse audience
- Ability to foster and maintain strategic alliances across multiple stakeholders;
- Strong experience and ability to facilitate training to a diverse audience (in terms of education, language ability…)
- Willingness to travel to and work in hard-to-reach areas; computer literacy and excellent documentation and report writing skills in English are a must;
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
- Experience on assisting on development of local procedure, manual, guidance on child safeguarding.
- Experience on facilitation and coordination of training and workshop.
- Experience in conducting assessment, monitoring and report writing.
- Good experience in planning, coordinating and implementing work activities
- Practical experience in the participation of children on the intervention of program activities.
- Strong computer skills, including the use of email, internet and applications for design and publication.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Very good skill in communication, report writing and facilitation
