NRC is looking for qualified drivers base at Kibondo
The Purpose of Driver position is to run official transport errands with people and cargo/materials to the destinations as instructed by approved NRC officers.

Duties and responsibilities
- Drive staff and NRC visitors on official duties, on instruction by Fleet-in-Charge
- Maintain a logbook for all trips undertaken
- Pick, drop and circulate mail, letters, contracts, proposals, documents and cargo/materials to the required destination
- Operate the NRC designated vehicle in accordance with NRC policies and procedures
- Maintain assigned NRC vehicle in proper operating condition at all times including fueling, securing, cleaning, timely minor repairs and reporting to the Fleet Supervisor of required major repairs
- In liaison with the Fleet In-Charge arrange for major repairs and servicing of the assigned vehicle at the right intervals.
- Ensure the assigned vehicle has all the required legal and other documents and equipment including vehicle insurance, vehicle licenses, vehicle logs, first aid kit and necessary spare parts and tools
- Report immediately eventualities like accidents and breakdowns
- Assist as assigned by the Fleet In-Charge, in preparing of fleet related reports
- Ensure that all the necessary records and forms related to the assigned vehicles are properly filled and filed as required by NRC policies.
- Drive NRC vehicle on approved routes/roads as well as parking them in secure designated areas.
Qualifications
- Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) or equivalent
- Driving License, Class C obtained from a certified driving school.
- Ability to chauffer Senior NRC staff and high profile visitors.
- Good language skills (English/Swahili) – Both written and spoken.
- Basic computer literacy will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
- High level of integrity.
- Recommendation from previous organisations worked for.
- Having previous experience working with NGO/UN desirable but not mandatory.

ICT OFFICER

The ICT Officer is responsible for providing technical ICT support to the office

- Providing First level support for all ICT issues to the Tanzania Country Offices and Field Offices

- Monitoring of the Network Devices in Meraki
- Understand the current manual tasks happening in Tanzania and come up with plans to automate them in conjunction with the Regional Office.

WASH Technical Assistant (Sanitation)
NRC is looking for a WASH Technical Assistant (Sanitation) base at Kibondo ,Kigoma
The purpose of the assistant position is to assist in the day to day implementation WASH project.

Duties and responsibilities
- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
- Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper filing of documents
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
- Supervise latrine construction activities in the camp and ensure that they are performed effectively so as to meet the set standards.
- Collect and Collate data from the field in line with latrine construction and prepare regular reports on activities implemented.
- Conduct daily assessment and supervision of latrine material distribution from the warehouses to the beneficiaries with the help of the distribution supervisor to ensure only quality and right material is issued.
- Work with the team and come up with innovative designs for latrine construction.
- Request materials for distribution with the help of WASH Assistant (Sanitation)
- Provide latrine construction trainings and assessment to the construction team through the masons on a regular basis to ensure only qualified persons are given these responsibilities.
- Assist the WASH Officer in providing technical support in the development of NRC’s sanitation programming on latrine construction and maintenance.
- Supervise and ensure fabrication of quality and durable latrine slabs.
- Conduct post construction inspection of the already constructed latrines before issuance of completion certificates.
- Organize and conduct community mobilization through the WASH committees and community leaders and have an awareness creation on latrine allocation and distribution of the targeted communities and schools using appropriate participatory methodologies
- Maintain a daily reporting schedule for all latrine activities including the issuance of materials and slabs.
- Assist and coordinate with the other sister sectors in the implementation of project services.
- Conduct any other duty as may be assigned by the WASH Officer (Sanitation and Solid Waste Management).
- Coordinating activities and resolving any disputes which may arise on the job site.
- Evaluating workmanship and quality of work done
Qualifications
- Experience from working as an WASH Assistant or Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Fluency in English, oral and written
- Participate in appropriate professional development of project portfolio

- Technical background in Construction Engineering Minimum of Trade test in Carpentry and/or Masonry or similar relevant discipline.

- Experience in undertaking hygiene promotion activities and construction of latrines will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to explain and present technical information.
- Experience in capacity building and training of staff and target groups.

NRC Tanzania is looking for WASH Assistant – Water supply base at Kibondo, Kigoma
Being an employee of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Tanzania, the WASH Assistant is expected to represent NRC in a responsible manner and always act in accordance with NRC’s Code of Contact.
Duties and responsibilities
- Supervise masons, contractors and unskilled labourer’s during repairs and construction of WASH related facilities (water tap-stands, valve chambers, operator sheds, pipe installations & repairs and other water works).
- Tracking construction materials supplied and utilized during construction
- Monitor closely bursts, leakages and repairs in the water supply network and lead, manage skilled & unskilled work force to maintaining the water facilities
- Responsible for the safe keeping of all water supply tools and materials and at the same time tracking and keeping records on the same
- Supervise the borehole attendants/operators to ensure un-interrupted water supply to the beneficiaries
- Provide technical support to the borehole attendants, tap-stand monitors and WASH Committees in the daily operations and on O&M
- Leads the repair team in pressure regulation for equitable portable water distribution in the reticulation system, in line with the set water regime and SPHERE/UNCHR standards
- In collaboration with the WASH Project Officer and WASH Committees work out practical ways of ensuring equitable distribution of water in the camp
- On a daily and weekly basis record and report to supervisor all the works done in the field
- Update and keep record and data on the daily water production monitoring sheet and submitting it to WASH Project Officer on a weekly basis for reporting.
- Inspect and certify any pipe repair work done by the repair team before backfilling the soil to ensure quality workmanship is maintained
- Approve trench excavations done by contractors to ensure correct depth and width is achieved before pipe installation commences
- Work together with WASH Committees, Community leadership in the field in identification of problematic areas of water reticulation systems with a view of providing sustainable solutions
- Ensure FRC levels are maintained within the acceptable range at the source and tap-stand levels by spontaneous monitoring and sampling.
- Collaborate with other agencies staff during field discussions
- Any other assignment as may be required by the WASH Officer or WASH Coordinator.
- Lead in responding to bursts and leakages in the entire pipeline system
- Supervise laying of pipes and repair of water reticulation system
- Any other assignment as may be required by the WASH Officer or WASH Coordinator.
Qualifications
- A minimum of Three or five years proven experience for degree or Diploma holder respectively in working/programming in either relief or development including managing a large-scale Community based water project with evidence of successful implementation of similar projects
- Good experience in supervising, training, and coaching staff.
- Good understanding of SPHERE and other international standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office software.

- M&E specific technical responsibility for implementation of NRC projects
- Provide specific technical support and capacity building towards project staff
- Assess, promote and document ideas for technical improvement and further program development options
- Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist
- Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
- Develop and support the implementation of appropriate SOPs for information management in line with NRC procedures including confidentiality and data protection.
- Support the development of appropriate Education related databases to store, analysis and present relevant information.
- Process and analyse routine data captured by NRC Education staff and partners staff such as beneficiary registration, learner enrolments, attendance and verification, baseline/end line surveys, and Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) surveys.
- Support the Education Core Competencies (CCs) Teams to analyse data on needs and to standardise data and vulnerability analysis
- Work with the M&E Team and project staff to develop systems for capturing and managing data on beneficiaries as well as relevant output and outcome indicators.
- Support Projects staff to develop templates for data capture throughout the project cycle.
- Provide training for NRC and partner organization on relevant aspects of data management.
- Conduct adios data audits to identify issues with data quality, reliability and relevance, and communicate problem areas to the Education Coordinator.
- Support Education CCs staff at area level to create and maintain databases and spreadsheets that meet NRC’s M&E and donors’ requirements.
Qualifications
- Preferable University degree in statistics, economics, IT or related fields.
