Position Summary

Ifakara is looking for qualified and experienced individuals to work as Clinical Officers. They will be required to work in a selected health facility where they will recruit and conduct follow up on study participants including clinical care of any medical condition as presented by study participants. Also, they will supervise community health workers and ensure the smooth recruitment of study participants, therefore shall possess excellent collaborative skills to work with the health facility staff and community.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Recruit, follow up and provide clinical care to all study participants daily.
  • Ensure all study-related forms are properly and accurately filled and data is entered in electronic data capturing tools daily.
  • Respond to queries, concerns and issues raised by the supervisor/principal investigator or a monitor.
  • Ensure that participants’ privacy and confidentiality are maintained.
  • Oversee all field activities done at the site.
  • Communicate with other study staff regularly at scheduled meetings and actively participate in all meetings.
  • Ensure the study is done according to the working protocol and adherence to the ICH Guidelines of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Maintain a close professional relationship with the government officials in the study area.
  • Work with the study coordinator and PI to ensure that the study-specific SOPs are complete and are updated regularly.
  • Work in a professional and ethical manner with competence, accountability and integrity.
  • Supervise clinical activities at the respective health facility.

 

Qualification and Experience

 

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine.
  • Fresh graduates with at least a six-month internship in clinical research are encouraged to apply.

 

Skills and Competencies

 

  • GCP qualifications, experience in clinical research including coordination of recruitment, office organization and minimal financial skills.
  • Moderate computer skills including Ms. Office tools i.e., Word, Excel etc.

Position Summary

Ifakara is looking for a qualified and experienced individual to work as a Data Officer. The individual will be in charge of the Quality Control/Assurance of the KIULARCO data, ensure good data quality and integrity and will coordinate data collection and processing as assigned by the statistician(s). The individual must be able to manage data according to the National AIDS Control Program and the Kilombero and Ulanga Antiretroviral Cohort (KIULARCO). They will also support data management of other research projects with the collaboration of the existing research platform of the Kilombero and Ulanga Antiretroviral Cohort (KIULARCO).

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Management of KIULARCO, NACP, other research databases of CDCI and collaborative projects (supervising correct data entry by other team members, quality control, data extraction).
  • Responsible for addressing KIULARCO and/or NACP Data Queries.
  • Assist in the development of research proposals on HIV/AIDS.
  • Assist in ongoing KIULARCO projects with data queries.
  • Participate in writing of publication within KIULARCO.
  • Prepare the KIULARCO monthly and annual reports.
  • Prepare HIV care/ART quarterly report for the district/national authorities.
  • Lead journal clubs and contribute to quality control sessions.
  • Attend and/or conduct all compulsory CDCI and IHI meetings.
  • Attend, when necessary, any seminar, meeting, workshop, training, conference or activities organized by the GoT, MOH, regional, district and major implementing partners.
  • Assist to plan, coordinate, and support research activities organized by IHI and other partners.
  • Perform any additional task assigned by the PL and/or site director of IHI and/or director of SFRH and/or project statistician’s essential requirements.

 

Qualification and Experience

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Data Management or Statistics or related field.
  • Working knowledge of STATA, the CTC2 Database, MYSQL and/or OpenMRS is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in data management is an added advantage.

Position Summary

Ifakara is looking for a qualified and experienced individual to work as a Statistician. The individual position will supervise and manage the Quality Control Assurance of the KIULARCO data according to the Kilombero and Ulanga Antiretroviral Cohort (KIULARCO) and the National AIDS Control Program. The individual will participate in data processing, analysis, and interpretation and will also be required to prepare reports for different research projects within the Kilombero and Ulanga Antiretroviral Cohort (KIULARCO) as assigned by Senior Project Statisticians. The individual must be able to develop their own research within KIULARCO and participate in Grant proposal writing and must be ready to support analysis of other research projects within the collaboration institutions of IHI and SFH.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Management of KIULARCO, NACP, and other research databases of CDCI and collaborative projects (supervising correct data entry by other team members, quality control, data extraction, data analysis) with close collaboration with the Data Manager.
  • Oversee the addressing of KIULARCO and/or NACP Data Queries.
  • Facilitate the development of research proposals on HIV/AIDS, comorbidities and chronic care models.
  • Assist ongoing KIULARCO projects with data analysis, interpretation and reporting, and participate in the writing of publications within KIULARCO and collaborative projects.
  • Supervise the preparation of HIV care/ART quarterly reports for the district/national authorities and the KIULARCO monthly and annual report.
  • Active participation in journal clubs and contributing to quality control sessions.
  • Train the team through presentations and individual consultations on statistical concepts.
  • Attend and/or conduct all compulsory CDCI and IHI meetings.
  • Attend, when necessary, any seminar, meeting, workshop, training, conference or activities organized by the GoT, MOH, regional, district and major implementing partners.
  • Assist to plan, coordinate, and support research activities organized by IHI and other partners.
  • Perform any additional task by the PL and/or site director of IHI and/or director of SFRH and/or project statistician.

 

Qualification and Experience

 

  • Master of Science in statistics or epidemiology.
  • Working knowledge of a statistical package, preferably STATA advantage.
  • Prior experience in data analysis for at least 2 years.
  • Previous employment/volunteer ship in a research institution is an added advantage.

  • Ability to do data analysis with at least 2 or more peer-reviewed publications.
