POSITION: PSYCHIATRIC NURSE (5 POSITIONS)

Duty Station: Nduta Camp (Kibondo DC) and Nyarugusu Camp (Kasulu DC)

Reports to: Patron/Matron

Age limit: Not above 45 Years.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.
  • Develop care plans for patients, helping them be as independent as possible
  • Administer and monitor treatment regimens
  • Administer prescribed medications, making constant adjustments commensurate with a patient’s condition under the supervision of qualified medical staff
  • Observe and report behavioral changes
  • Maintain control of drugs and medications
  • Help patients improve their coping abilities
  • Work with patients’ families to help improve the patient’s abilities & help them deal with family member’s mental illness
  • Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Diploma in Nursing with specialization in mental health from a recognized institution.
  • At least 2 (two) years working experience in the same field.
  • Able to work in the refugee camps situation.
  • Must have a valid TNMC registration.

 

PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNICIAN

Duty Station: Nduta Camp (Kibondo DC)

Reports to: Health Coordinator and technically to Roving Pharmacist

Age limit: Not above 45 years

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Supervises and coordinates the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients of the hospital.
  • Distribution and monitoring of prescribed therapy which provides positive patient outcomes.

HEALTH COORDINATOR

Duty Station: Nyarugusu Camp (Kasulu DC)

Reports to: Team Leader and technically Director of Health Services

Age Limit: Not above 45 years

Major Responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with the Team Leader and field teams to determine operational needs of the medical program and medical staff training needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate health sector service delivery objectives, indicators and outcomes of project implementation.
  • Assist in implementing HR functions related to staff management (hiring, training, promotion, disciplinary action, termination) and ensure training and capacity building of health facility staff
  • Represent Tanzania Red Cross Society at health coordination meetings, task force meetings and other partner coordination meetings and communicate relevant information back to staff
  • Act as last line clinical consultation and make recommendations for referrals for specialized care
  • Lead production of site and donor reports including compiling and analyzing data, compiling narrative and analysis.
  • Work with management and partner agencies for outbreak preparedness and contingency planning
  • Provide input to proposal and budgeting processes
  • Ensure direct reports have clear objectives, receive mentor ship and participate in capacity building opportunities

Major Responsibilities

 

  • Attending in and out patients.
  • Attending emergency medical duties.
  • Carrying out investigations of admitted patients.
  • Ensuring that prescribed instructions are carried out.
  • Conducting surgical procedures.
  • Carrying out service and participating in major ward rounds.
  • Ensuring that patients are properly prepared for surgery.
  • Participating fully in morning clinical sessions, patient presentation and journal clubs.
  • Participating in research activities.
  • Performing any other duties related to his/her work as assigned by his/her supervisor.

FIELD FINANCE COORDINATOR

Reports to: Health Coordinator and technically to Finance Manager

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Field Finance Coordinator is required to work in accordance with the accounts manager in order to prepare financial statements.
  • Field Finance Coordinator is required to needs to review the financial transactions being made by the organization.
  • Needs to keep a check on the expenses incurred as well as the funds received.
  • To control budgets from all donors and share BVAs with the program people.
  • Need to assess the financial processes and discuss the scope of improvement with the senior officials.
  • Needs to modify the existing financial processes, if required.
  • Field Finance Coordinator validates and approves the vendors’ bills.
  • Needs to prepare financial reports, keying in information related to various financial transactions.
  • Finance Coordinator needs to maintain all the financial documents.

ADMIN Cum LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

For Admin

 

  • Compliance with and adherence to Tanzania Red Cross policies, guidance, handbooks and donor/auditor requirements for Refugee camps.
  • Facilitate the support function’s strategic input to the development of the Strategy and Plan of Action.
  • Provide input on operational daily activities of staff and coordinate and align operational support with program plans.
  • Responsible for ensuring quality performance by all staff.
  • Responsible for the strategic development of structures, technical systems, human resource capacity and allocation
  • Responsible for development of new specific technical SOPs, guidelines and employees working tools
  • Responsible for organizational learning related to program support.
  • Responsible for technical capacity building of support staff at the refugee camp.

  • Maintain an up-to-‘date knowledge of the supply market for all TRCS supplies and services
  • Liaise with technical team to establish technical specifications of items for supplies to be ordered
  • Process and obtain relevant approvals for materials to be purchased in line with the existing requirements and protocols
  • Provide advice on procurement issues with best practices in line with the public procurement procedures and protocols
  • Responsible for the planning, support and implementation of an efficient logistics and supply chain management system for the organization in accordance with the program requirements.
  • Management of data essential to make available an accurate forecast for procurement at regular intervals
  • Serve as in-house resources person to provide guidance on logistics issues
  • Prepare and process the local purchase orders and ensure that orders are delivered to suppliers on time

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • To drive vehicles in a safe and cautious manner at all times as assigned.
  • To ensure that the vehicles are clean and tidy at all times.
  • Report all defects immediately to project officer/supervisor.
  • Check vehicle for safety before use each day and see to it that insurance and registration are obtained/done on time.
  • Responsible for all the vehicle’s equipment.
  • Maintain all TRCS procedures regarding vehicles.
  • Maintain proper uses of log book.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

NURSE MIDWIFE (9 POSITIONS)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Providing nursing care, treatment and follow-up of patients, according to doctors’ prescriptions, protocols applied in service and universal hygiene standards/precautions, in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population.
  • Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment. Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times.
  • Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, and assisting during consultations, daily rounds and other medical procedures. Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary.
  • Identifying Sexual and Gender Based Violence victims and referring them to the medical team so they can receive the necessary treatment. Must be knowing and aware of the importance and appropriate use of the Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) kit.
  • Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents ensuring an appropriate written/oral handover, and reporting any problematic situations and cases that may arise. Participating in data collection and keeping doctors/supervisors informed.
  • Supervising and training nurse-aids, nutritional assistants, cleaners and other related staff under his/her supervision, ensuring teamwork and adherence to all appropriate protocols and procedures.

  • Prepare reagents for routine examination of patients
  • Carry out diagnostic procedures as advised by doctors and clinicians.
  • Ensure the laboratory is kept clean.
  • Ensure that all samples of investigations are kept in safe custody.
  • Maintain records of findings of all investigations carried out.

  • To prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • To crosscheck health indicators and making follow up
  • To input IDRS report into data base of DHIS 2 on every Monday
  • To submit MTUHA report on every month

 

JOB REQUIRMENTS

 

  • Bachelor degree in related field
  • Experience in data management
  • Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, ODK platforms, databases);
  • Proficiency in using different functions and tools in Microsoft Excel a must
